Mesh networks are something I'd like to get into more, but unfortunately don't have anyone to connect with
The idea of a large scale mesh network is to be a network (wireless or not) that doesn't depend on a single ISP to run, everyone is a part of it
There are a few big projects on this, for example, freifunk, guifi.net, NYC mesh and so on
Currently I have some equipment that could be used, all of it flasheable and supported on openwrt
Update 26-09-2026: Been quite interested in reticulum lately, might put my devices into it.
Reticulum is a protocol where your identity stays with you, you announce your presence and it gets propagated over the network
